2018     ExSTEPtional WALKING Challenge

Welcome to the 2018 ExSteptional Challenge, White Plains Hospital’s community and hospital-wide stepping challenge to promote health through walking.
Walking is the perfect, low impact exercise ideal for all ages. A minimum of 150 minutes of moderate physical activity per week is recommended for optimal health.  The ExSteptional Challenge makes walking fun by turning it into a communal activity with a competitive element.
To get started, all you have to do is recruit a team of five co-workers. Your team will be provided with pedometers to track your steps and will compete with others in the community. The hospital and community team that accumulates the highest number of steps from April 30th to June 10th wins. Winning hospital and community  individuals and teams will be recognized at an awards luncheon at White Plains Hospital.  More details to follow at a later date.

This year, to help celebrate White Plain Hospital's 125th Anniversary ...
  •  Walk to the current White Plains Hospital location or to any the past sites where the hospital was located and you will be able to earn BONUS steps. Details to  follow.
  • Teams from both WPH and the community will be competing against each other in the same challenge for bragging rights to see who can walk the most steps!
  • You will also have an opportunity to earn BONUS steps for your team by participating in the May 20th hospital sponsored “Answer to Cancer” 5K event. Details to follow.
