White Plains Hospital's Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians specialize in high-risk pregnancy care for women at risk for or currently experiencing obstetrical complications (such as diabetes, hypertension, previous preterm delivery, recurrent miscarriage, etc.), women of advanced maternal age (geriatric pregnancy), multiple pregnancies and women with pregnancies affected by birth defects. They provide medical care and close monitoring from the preconception period, throughout pregnancy and into the postpartum period.
In consultation with your obstetric provider, highly specialized care is delivered in a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach by a team with advanced clinical expertise to help women experiencing a complicated pregnancy achieve the best possible outcome.
Prenatal genetic counseling and genetic testing are available with a geneticist.
The MFM program has been awarded special certification by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, which indicates adherence to the nationally recognized standards in the performance and interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
