We went to WPH for a scheduled eye surgery for my two year-old daughter. It was nerve-racking to think about and even more so once you step foot into the hospital. My husband and I were impressed with the staff from admission through recovery. Everyone took a minute to address our daughter directly, with a little joke or sweet comment about her, and were all courteous, professional and efficient. We were especially taken with the pediatric anesthesiologist, whom was probably the second most important person to us after the surgeon. Dr. Chen was warm, patient, and informative and put both us and our daughter at ease pretty quickly. He sang with me while sedating my daughter, which is one of the scariest experiences I've ever had, and left us all feeling confident and assured about her safety and health.
