After you undergo your surgical procedure, you need to complete your discharge planning in order to ensure that you achieve optimal post-surgical results. This process begins upon your return to the Ambulatory Surgery Department.
Upon your return to the Ambulatory Surgery Department, your vital signs will be monitored and you may be asked to drink, walk, and urinate to monitor your progress. Your visitors can be with you at this time, if you prefer. After completing the necessary steps, if If it is determined that you can be discharged from White Plains Hospital, your IV will be removed, you will be given instructions for your post-operative care, and you will taken by wheelchair to the front door for your release.
