The smallest patients receive some of the greatest attention at White Plains Hospital.
Whether admitted through a specially designated pediatrics area in our Emergency Department, or directly from one of our many partner community pediatricians, we provide our youngest patients and their families with expert, compassionate and comprehensive care.
Pediatric patients at WPH are seen by a Pediatric Hospitalist, who stays in continuous communication with the referring pediatrician.
The Pediatric Hospitalist team consists of 7 board-certified physicians who serve as the primary providers for young patients admitted to WPH for medical problems and the Well Baby Nursery, including those who have a primary care provider on the Hospital's medical staff. Hospitalists also provide consultative services for pediatric inpatients and to the Emergency Department. In addition they provide pediatric care in the Family Health Center and are often asked by community pediatricians to meet a sick child and his or her parents in the Emergency Department. For more information on the Pediatric Hospitalist program call 914-681-2504.
Parents are welcome to visit with their child at any time during the hospital stay in most cases, and may also be able to stay overnight with their child while they are hospitalized.
For those pediatric patients undergoing surgery, special attention is given to post anesthesia care in our PACU.
For patients undergoing more complex cases, White Plains Hospital is fortunate to benefit from the advanced services offered through the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, consistently ranked among the nation’s best children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
