In January, my father was admitted through the Emergency Department with multiple issues. By the time he reached the fourth floor he was treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Dad was dying and was in palliative care. I would like to say that the nurse taking care of my dad was the most wonderful nurse. Olivia Desantis treated my dad with the most respect and compassion and made me feel a little more at ease. He was not an easy patient, always pulling his IV and his clothes. But she had the patience of a saint with him. I would like to thank her for her patience and for always asking how I was holding up.
