Hi! I am Hallie and I am 13 years old. For my bat mitzvah on March 4th, I want to do my best to help children in any way possible. I know that kids in hospitals are sometimes dismissed as people who only need help because of the reason they are hospitalized, so my goal is to help these kids realize that they are more than that. It shouldn’t define them. I want to do this by helping to raise money to help bring them toys and other things to distract and make them feel more comfortable. Fortunately, I have never had to stay in a hospital overnight, but when I was four years old, I had an allergic reaction and had to stay in the hospital for some time. This happened again when I was eleven and even though I was only there for a short time, I was a little bit scared, so I can’t imagine how scared kids who have to stay for days or even weeks must feel.
