Michael Palumbo, MD – Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer

As Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of White Plains Hospital, Dr. Michael Palumbo provides strategic and clinical leadership for a medical staff of more than 1,500 providers. His unwavering focus on quality, safety, and the patient experience has been instrumental in helping to drive a culture of excellence across the Hospital for the past 20 years.

A board-certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Palumbo was a founding partner of a large multi-specialty practice in Manhattan before joining White Plains Hospital in 2005 as the founding Medical Director of the Adult Hospitalist Program. Under his leadership, the program has expanded from just four physicians to nearly 60. Today, it stands as a model for coordinated inpatient care – playing a vital role in delivering seamless, around-the-clock care to nearly all inpatients, while evolving in its specialties to support the Hospital’s advanced services in Pulmonary, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, and Cardiology.
