Today with Hoda and Jenna Co-host Jenna Bush Hager Will Speak on the “Power of Compassion to Change Lives” at White Plains Hospital Luncheon June 4

WHITE PLAINS, NY (May 14, 2019) –  Jenna Bush Hager will be the special guest speaker at the Friends of White Plains Hospital Annual Spring Luncheon on June 4, 12 p.m. at the Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison, NY.

Speaking on “Making a Difference: How the Power of Compassion Changes Lives,” Bush Hager will share her personal experiences as a teacher, humanitarian aid worker, and correspondent in hopes of motivating and inspiring guests to become more involved in their own schools and communities.

Bush Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, believes everyone has the ability to make a profound impact on the lives of others, and calls audiences to action to show they can make a difference, too. Her talk will echo the Friends’ award of several scholarships to its teen volunteers, as well as the “Ripple Award” to a member whose service has had far-reaching effects in the hospital community.

After working at a charter school in Washington, Bush Hager left to become a UNICEF volunteer at a shelter in Latin America, which opened her eyes to the many children around the world who are excluded from basic care, support and education. The experience led to her write Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope, inspired by a young woman she met there, which went on to become a New York Times Bestseller.

A wife and mom to two daughters (and a son on the way), Bush Hager has co-authored two children’s books with her mother, the former First Lady Laura Bush. In 2017, she released the best-selling Sisters First, a playful memoir about growing up in the White House that she co-authored with her sister, Barbara Pierce Bush. The content of the book inspired the fraternal sisters to create a children’s book of the same name.

Tickets are $150 for the general luncheon; $200 also includes a copy of Sisters First, a meet and greet, and free membership in the Friends. For complete details on how to purchase tickets and other sponsor packages, please visit the www.wphospital.org/foundation/events/2019-spring-luncheon.
