home, and all of our energy was focused on caring for our patients. Even beyond our Hospital, we worked together with our colleagues across the Montefiore Health System to share resources, expertise, and valuable lessons learned to meet the needs of all of our patients. During the peak of the pandemic, we treated more COVID-19 patients than any other local hospital, and we are proud to say over 1,300 safely returned home to their loved ones having conquered the virus.
There are so many people to thank, but in this year’s Annual Report we are going to shine a light on our nurses — the backbone of our organization. 2020 was named the “Year of the Nurse” by the World Health Organization as a way to acknowledge the amazing

contributions of nurses across the globe. Here at White Plains Hospital, our nurses are led by Leigh Ann McMahon, an incredible leader who has been with the Hospital for 36 years. She and her team of nurses are an essential part of what makes our Hospital special. From planning and preparing to transforming and troubleshooting, our compassionate nursing staff includes some of the most highly skilled and trained clinicians in Westchester.
While this year has been challenging, the future of White Plains Hospital remains bright. We are 127 years strong and growing better and bigger by the day. Thank you for your commitment to our mission, and for all that you do to make White Plains Hospital the premier Hospital in Westchester.
