 oral presentations highlighting their findings. “We’re proud of the Hospital’s body of nursing research and the diversity of clinical areas that are represented. This research is not coming just from one clinical area or group of nurses, it’s really been across the gamut,” she says.
Nurse practitioner Martha Ferrara, who specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, is one of the White Plains Hospital nurses who is active in high-level research in her field. In June 2019, Ferrara presented to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
her findings on a study, conducted with White Plains Hospital’s Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Dr. James Peacock, and Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology, Dr. Daniel Wang, on the interoperability of data from cardiovascular implantable electronic devices. “I have a lot of experience working with remote monitoring in cardiac devices and, as a nurse, am able to bring data from the patient population to the table for projects like this. Through this study and others, I’ve been able to disseminate the work that we do, and that is how we get outstanding care overall,” she says.
