| Home Surgical Services Your Care After Surgery | |||||||
Your Care After SurgeryAfter you have undergone surgery, your doctor may ask you to monitor your condition or perform certain activities or exercises to reduce your recovery time. These include but are not limited to deep breathing and leg exercises every one or two hours daily. Deep Breathing You are also encouraged to cough unless you have had ear or eye surgery. Leg Exercises For Inpatients Your DischargeUpon your return to the Ambulatory Surgery Department, your vital signs will be monitored and you may be asked to drink, walk, and urinate to monitor your progress. Your visitors can be with you at this time. If it is determined that you can be discharged, your IV will be removed, you will be given instructions for your post-operative care, and you will taken by wheelchair to the front door for your release. |
