  • Quality Measures

Consumer Choice #1 National Research CorporationAt White Plains Hospital, everyone focuses on quality as the first priority. Doctors, nurses and clinical staff routinely measure and report our performance against national standards for healthcare quality. We are committed to providing you and your family with current and accurate information in an easily understandable format. The charts in this section will help you see how we are doing.

The Hospital staff measure widely accepted clinical indicators in cases of heart attack (acute myocardial infarction), heart failure (congestive heart failure), and pneumonia and surgical care—four of the most common reasons for hospitalization.

The Joint Commission sealThese evidence-based measures were developed by The Joint Commission, a national hospital accrediting organization, in conjunction with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

While we report our quality data to these organizations and others, the data presented are the quality data that we provide to The Joint Commission. That raw data is, in our opinion, as clear and straightforward as it is possible to make it. It is not processed through anyone's algorithms, including our own, and is an accurate reflection of the quality of care that we deliver. The information is abstracted from our patients' records (charts) and sent directly to The Joint Commission. It can be viewed on the The Joint Commission site using the link below.

Clinical indicators studied

  • Heart Attack (Acute Myocardial Infarction—AMI)
  • Pneumonia
  • Heart Failure (Congestive Heart Failure—CHF)
  • Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP)

On The Joint Commission Quality Check website, you can view the Hospital data.

If you have questions about any of the data that we present, or would like more information about the procedures that we follow in treating heart attack, heart failure or pneumonia patients at the Hospital, please email us at wphcmail@wphospital.org.
