White Plains, NY- (June 21, 2013) – In order to accommodate major renovations of the White Plains Hospital lobby and entranceway set to begin in September, the hospital Gift Shop will be closing its current location on August 30th. The shop will operate out of a temporary, location to be determined within the hospital until the renovations are complete. During this time, gift shop orders can be placed online.
The Gift Shop will need to clear out most of its existing inventory before the move, holding substantial sales and discounts on all jewelry, handbags, scarves, toys and many gift items beginning in July and running through the end of August. This will be an excellent opportunity to stock up on fun hostess gifts and unique presents for loved ones.
The closing is necessary during the major capital transformation renovations at White Plains Hospital. The hospital is currently engaged in the most important capital campaign in its 120-year history, a $100 million dollar initiative called The Time Is Now, that will help meet the region's demand for critical health services long into the future. The campaign focuses on three areas that will have the greatest impact on our patients: infrastructure, technology and a superbly trained clinical staff.
This project will add 42,000 square feet of space, expand clinical space by 28% and includes the following:
- Green buildings and sustainable construction
- A new six-story patient care building
- 24 new private patient rooms
- Five state-of-the-art operating rooms/surgical suites
- Expanded Outpatient Radiology Center
- New Entrance and lobby
