Thoracic Surgery

At White Plains Hospital, the Section of Thoracic (Chest) Surgery consists of Board Certified Thoracic Surgeons with a combined clinical experience of over 50 years. Treatment is provided for diseases of the lung, esophagus, chest wall, and mediastinum ( the area between the two lungs).

Our surgeons have amassed extensive clinical experience in dealing with malignancies such as lung and esophageal cancer. Our thoracic surgeons performed some of the first minimally invasive lung resections in the area over 15 years ago and continue to be leaders in minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques.

Using their expertise in both traditionally recognized surgical approaches and advancing into minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), the post-operative statistics from their practice show excellent results that often exceed those reported in peer-reviewed journals. The same multidisciplinary approach employed at some of the finest teaching institutions in the country is available to patients while they remain close to home at White Plains Hospital.

Medical experts in the fields of thoracic surgery, medical oncology, radiation therapy, pulmonology, intensive care medicine, anesthesiology, and pathology allow our thoracic surgical patients to receive the finest care employing the latest technologies.
