Q. Who do I call to find out about the Direct to You™ Lab testing?
A. You may call our Admissions Testing department at 914-681-1232 from Mon. through Fri., from 7 AM to 6 PM.
Q. Do I need a doctor’s order for these tests?
A. No. If you are 18 or older, New York State law allows you to order these tests for yourself without a doctor’s prescription.
Q. Will my insurance company pay for these tests?
A. No. Since these tests are ordered without a doctor’s prescription, health insurance will not pay for them. You can pay by cash, check or credit card.
Q. How do I get my test results?
A. You can get your results by phone, 914-681-1232, (Mon-Fri. 7 AM - 6 PM, Sat. 8 AM-12 PM), in person, or by mail.
Q. Who will tell me what these test results mean?
A. Our Laboratory staff cannot interpret tests results or give you medical advice. We strongly urge you to discuss your test results with your doctor, if you need assistance in understanding their meaning.
Q. What if I don’t have a doctor?
A. You can contact White Plains Hospital at 914-681-1010, or use our online physician search to obtain the names of physicians in an appropriate medical specialty.
Q. How much do these tests cost?
A. Prices range from $15 to $50. See the pricing information page.
Q. Where do I go to get these tests performed?
A. Simply go the Admitting Department at White Plains Hospital and tell the staff that you would like to order Direct to You™ lab testing. They will take care of the rest of the arrangements. No appointment is necessary. The hours are: Monday – Friday, from 7AM to 6PM and on Saturday from 8 AM until noon.
