White Plains, NY (October 25, 2010) – The Nursing staff at White Plains Hospital invites children of all ages to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll for a check up by doctors and nurses at the 2nd Annual Ted E. Bear Hospital on Saturday, November 6th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at White Plains Hospital.
To a child, the giant world of hospitals is filled with big machines, loud noises and frightening images. The Ted E. Bear Hospital helps alleviate these fears by offering children a fun way to familiarize themselves with the happenings of a hospital. Children and parents will get to tour the Hospital’s new Emergency Department. Teddy will get an x-ray, have its blood pressure and heart checked, and much more. New to this year’s Ted E. Bear Hospital is a visit into the operating room.
There will be a lot to do and learn including free and valuable information on a variety of children's safety topics. Operation Safe Child, sponsored by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, will be on hand providing SAFE CHILD cards. The cards contain a child's name, biographical information, and a fingerprint image of both index fingers which can then be stored in a New York State database with parental consent.
