White Plains Hospital Announces New Medical and Dental Staff Leadership

White Plains, NY – A new slate of officers has been elected to serve as leaders of the 2011 Medical and Dental Staff of White Plains Hospital. The Medical and Dental Staff represents more than 700 physicians and dentists affiliated with the Hospital.

 

White Plains, NY (April 1, 2011) – A new slate of officers has been elected to serve as leaders of the 2011 Medical and Dental Staff of White Plains Hospital. The Medical and Dental Staff represents more than 700 physicians and dentists affiliated with the Hospital.

Roger V. Cappucci, MDRoger V. Cappucci, MD, of Scarsdale was elected President of the Medical and Dental Staff. Prior to assuming his new post, Dr. Cappucci served as Vice President of the Hospital’s Medical and Dental Staff. He is a cardiologist at Scarsdale Medical Group and has been affiliated with WPH since 1995.

Dr. Cappucci holds a Doctorate of Medicine from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his internship and residency at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center/Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His post-graduate training includes a Cardiology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center and a Research Fellowship at Congestive Heart Failure Group, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Alfred Roston, MD, FACGAlfred Roston, MD, FACG, of Bedford, NY, was elected Vice President of the Medical and Dental Staff. Prior to assuming his new post, Dr. Roston served as Secretary/Treasurer. Dr. Roston is a partner and gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease and Nutrition Center of Westchester. He has extensive training at some of the world’s best hospitals, including Mount Sinai, New York Hospital/ Cornell, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard. He has been in many of America’s Top Physician lists over the years. Dr. Roston completed his advanced therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital and attended New York University School of Medicine.

Before medical school, Dr. Roston graduated magna cum laude from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Roston is an immediate past president of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE). He has been affiliated with WPH since 1995.

Robert D. Small, MDRobert D. Small, MD, of Briarcliff Manor, NY, was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical and Dental Staff. Dr. Small is the head of Joint Replacement Service at Bone and Joint Associates, LLP. He also serves as Director of the Orthopaedic Institute at White Plains Hospital, and is a Section Chief Emeritus of Orthopaedic Surgery at White Plains Hospital. He has been affiliated with White Plains Hospital for over 28 years.

Dr. Small holds a Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopaedic Institute. His post-graduate training includes a Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Hip Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Small worked as an Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and New York Medical College as well as a Senior Clinical Associate in Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
