White Plains, NY (September 2011) - White Plains Hospital welcomes Raj Buddhavarapu, MD, to its staff as new Director of Geriatric and Palliative Care.  
 
In this newly created position at the Hospital, Dr. Buddha will work with other physicians to consult on geriatric inpatients and ED patients.  Dr. Buddha is board certified in geriatrics, as well as hospice and palliative medicine and will help providers to identify and address the complex needs specific to elderly patients.
 
Dr. Buddha comes to White Plains Hospital from New York Downtown Hospital where he served as Chief of Geriatrics. He earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in India, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brookdale Hospital and New York Downtown Hospital.  Dr. Buddha completed his fellowship in geriatrics from Flushing Hospital and Medical Center.
