Event Gives a Tour of the Hospital’s ER to the Community’s Youngest Patients

White Plains, NY (May 10, 2012) – Children of all ages are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll to the third annual White Plains Hospital Ted E. Bear Fair for evaluation and treatment by the Hospital’s doctors and nurses on Saturday May 19th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. 

The fair gives children a chance to familiarize themselves with a hospital emergency department, as well as hospital staff and procedures. Organized by White Plains Hospital nurses and the Community Relations Department, the event provides children with a fun activity and valuable information, helping to alleviate any fears they may have of the hospital environment.

Bears and other furry patients will receive bandage treatments and check-ups by hospital staff. The fair will also offer members of the community a tour of the hospital’s Emergency Department, renovated and expanded in 2010.

The Ted E. Bear Fair is BYOB (bring your own stuffed bear.) Stuffed animals in limited supply will be provided to those who do not have their own. Valuable information on a variety of children’s safety topics will also be provided. For more information, please call (914) 681-1121.
