White Plains, NY- (October 1, 2012) – The Auxiliary of White Plains Hospital will hold its annual fall fundraiser on Thursday November 15th at the Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck, NY. Celebration 2012: A Legendary Evening, will honor longtime physicians Sheldon Alter, M.D.; Marvin Lipman, M.D.; and Carl Weber, M.D. The event is one of White Plains Hospital’s most celebrated events, with all proceeds going to support the Hospital’s clinical programs and services. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature cocktails, a lavish buffet and raffle prizes.
This year’s honorees have all been affiliated with the Hospital for decades.
Sheldon Alter, M.D., of White Plains, is double-board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and began his medical career at White Plains Hospital 1968. He is a member of the WestMed Medical Group.
Marvin Lipman, M.D., of Scarsdale, joined the Hospital’s staff in 1962 and is a founding member and the longest serving doctor at the Scarsdale Medical Group. Dr. Lipman is board-certified in endocrinology and specializes in Internal Medicine.
Carl Weber, M.D. of Purchase, NY, has been an esteemed surgeon for 45 years, joining the Hospital in 1968. He is a member of White Plains Surgical Specialists.
The Auxiliary of White Plains Hospital is made up of over 800 dedicated individuals with a mission to promote and advance the welfare of the institution. Members proudly and passionately serve as advocates for the Hospital, organizing and overseeing several fundraising and outreach events in the community and contributing thousands of volunteer hours every year. Many also serve on the Hospital’s Board of Directors.
