Also visible from the main lobby, the plantings provide a splash of color, especially during the spring and summer, to bring a little of the outside in.

White Plains, NY - Susan Fox of Larchmont has been named Senior Vice President, Administration for White Plains Hospital Center (WPHC).

White Plains, NY - On August 6th, 2010, 22 local high school and college students completed an intensive, seven-week nurse apprenticeship at White Plains Hospital. The Richard P. Biondi Nurse Apprentice Program was launched in 2006 to address the national shortage of nurses. Today, there are several former apprentices who are studying for their bachelor’s degrees in nursing as well as students who have graduated and are now working as RNs in the Hospital. By the end of 2010, White Plains Hospital expects to have 20 nursing students who have either completed the nurse apprentice or nurse associates program working in the hospital—precisely the goal from the outset of the program.

New York, NY – Stellaris Health Network and Empire BlueCross BlueShield have agreed to a new three-year contract, effective August 1, 2010. The contract restores in-network access to Stellaris facilities and providers for Empire policyholders and employer groups. No action is required by Empire members to continue services at any Stellaris Health Network facility.

About the size of an average living room, the fifth-floor space is the final piece of the Caregivers Support Program to fall into place. White Plains, NY – In what is the first of its kind minimally invasive procedure to be offered between Westchester and Albany, White Plains Hospital Center has joined a relatively small group of about 100 hospitals in the U.S. to provide Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM) to remove rectal polyps and early stage rectal cancers.

White Plains, NY – Individuals in Westchester communities served by White Plains Hospital Center who suffer a serious heart attack will be able to undergo life-saving treatment more quickly as a result of new technology the Hospital has adopted. Paramedics in the field will now be able to send a digital transmission of the patient’s electrocardiogram (EKG) to the Hospital’s Emergency Department and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

White Plains, NY – On Valentine’s Day morning, Rye City Councilman Peter Jovanovich began experiencing chest pains while working out at the Rye YMCA. Police officers responded and administered oxygen before EMS arrived and rushed him to White Plains Hospital Center’s new Emergency Department, where he was immediately transferred to the Hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab. There, cardiac specialists discovered a blockage in one of his coronary arteries. Jovanovich became the Hospital’s first patient to undergo emergency angioplasty to restore blood flow to his heart.
