Esteemed Cardiologist Mark Greenberg, M.D. Joins the WPH Family
White Plains, NY (July 14, 2014) – White Plains Hospital is pleased to welcome highly respected interventional cardiologist Mark Greenberg, M.D., of Scarsdale, to its medical staff as of July 1st. Dr. Greenberg has assumed the role of Director of the Joan and Alan Herfort, M.D. Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Dr. Greenberg is well known as one of the region’s top cardiologists and has been repeatedly named among Castle Connolly and New York Magazine’s Top Doctors. Most recently the Director of Interventional Cardiology with the Montefiore Health System, he will oversee all clinical operations of the catheterization laboratory at White Plains Hospital, which provided nearly 1,300 emergency and elective cardiac catheterizations in 2013.

Dr. Greenberg completed his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan and received his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore, followed by a Fellowship in Cardiology, also at Montefiore. Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine and Interventional Cardiology, he is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

As a result of White Plains Hospital’s newly established strategic partnership with the Montefiore Health System, patients who require heart surgery following angioplasty will benefit from the clinical services of the renowned Cardiac Surgery Program at the Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care.
The Joan and Alan Herfort, M.D. Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at White Plains Hospital opened in 2008 for diagnostic procedures. In 2010, White Plains became the only community hospital in New York State licensed for both diagnostic and emergency angioplasty.
