Kellie S. King
Assistant Director, Community Outreach
White Plains Hospital’s Community Outreach program is based on our dedication to provide our community access to exceptional care and our commitment to becoming the health care institution of choice for residents of Westchester County and its surrounding areas.
Through community outreach, WPH seeks to establish meaningful partnerships with academia, community-based organizations, elected officials, employers and businesses, faith organizations, governmental organizations, local health departments, health-care partners, schools and other groups to promote wellness and healthier lifestyles for all people who live and work in the community.
WPH participates in dozens of local health fairs each year. Upon request from religious institutions, schools, service agencies, businesses, and other community organizations, the hospital provides free clinical screenings, distributes health literature, provides health education and conducts roundtable workshops. If you would like WPH to participate in your health fair, download the Health Fair Request Form.
The Speakers Bureau is a free health education service that connects medical staff to the community at large. The Speakers Bureau is available to corporations, community groups, schools and religious organizations throughout Westchester County. Arranged through the Community Outreach Department, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff are available to give presentations on a variety of important health-related topics. For more information, please download the Speaker's Request Form.
Community Service Plan
White Plains Hospital is deeply committed to improving the health and well-being of the community. In keeping with the Commissioner of Health’s mission, White Plains Hospital, working in conjunction with our community partners and the Hospital’s Community Service Plan Committee, has been actively reviewing our present initiatives, strategic plans and prevention agenda priorities. Our Community Service Plan Committee’s mission is to assess our community’s health needs on an annual basis and recommends programs and/or services to meet those needs. Our plan for action has been identified through our committee as we continue our ongoing dialogue with patients, organizations, area business leaders, elected officials, not for profits and our Westchester County Department of Health.
To find out more about the free and low-cost programs and services we provide for the community, please see our most recent Community Service Plan.
